Inside Alice in La-La Fashion Agency

I was invited to Alice in La-La Headquarters for a tour around the office and showroom by casper + pearl designer Stacey Hendrikson.

Alice in La-La is an Adelaide based Fashion Agency (with more popping up around Australia) managing many Australian labels, founded by Alice Fitch, who had a dream of starting her own fashion agency, she first worked from home, but the business soon started to take over and she had to move into what is now the new Alice in La-La HQ located in Hindmarsh. From the outside you would never know what is happening within....from an amazing showroom, to designers and boutique buyers coming in and out minding their own 'fashion' business

Walking into the showroom was like walking into fashion heaven....there were racks and more racks filled with designer pieces from labels including casper + pearl, Two Sisters, Orbin, Lioness, First Light and many more, as well as an amazing display showcasing Supa Sundays (Adelaide's own and newest designer sunglasses range), along with beautiful designer jewellery by Liberte and Grand Bazaar

Nestled within the showroom was a beautifully designed sitting area, I loved how welcoming it made the space, it made you just want to stay there and go through the lookbooks of each of the designers managed by Alice in La-La

The building is an old bank...which still has the original volt in place, with a black lacquered door leading into the volt, I was told that if that if you go into the volt and the door closes behind you, you can't breathe inside, and you can't get out until someone opens the door! Scary but cool at the same time. It also adds so much character to history to the showroom...

Volt door

You must check out the lables they manage...they are some of Australia's finest!

Alice in La-La is an amazing Fashion agency and it was surreal to be able to walk through and see such a beautiful office, thankyou for inviting me in Alice in La-La team.

Styled with Success

I have always loved the concepts of inspiration and motivation, so I set out to organise an event where, in some way I could cause someone to be inspired and motivate them to take at least one step closer to achieving their life goals.
As a blogger I have been to many fashion related events in Adelaide, and over time I have met so many successful women, who are making a living out of their passions....I have always (even before blogging) wondered how one person can start their own business and become so successful, and get people involved who also want to help in creating success for them, so my thought for this event was that I was going to ask some of these successful women I had met to come and tell their stories of success in the hope that they would inspire all of us to do the same. I decided to call the event Styled with Success because not only are these women successful but they are doing what they do in style!

Styled with Success was on November 3rd 2013, Melbourne based label Coelho sent me this amazing outfit to wear (as seen above).
The evening consisted of speeches by Rosie Reichstein from Regina Sole Queen (a designer shoe boutique located on King William Road in Hyde Park), Robyn-Lynn owner of Datiro Designs (an ethically sound label creating amazing pieces and shares their location with Regina Sole Queen), Kelly Noble (Owner of Glam Adelaide, Glam Digital, Glam Diary and Glam Baby...I guess you could say she owns The Glam Empire!), Alice Fitch (owner of Alice in La-La Fashion Agency, which manages so many cool labels) & Cristina Tridente (Designer for Couture-Love-Madness and co-ordinator for the Adelaide Fashion Festival).
When I approached each of these women with my idea, they were all extremely supportive and instantly agreed to be apart of it.....their stories were so inspiring and according to the audience they were all motivational!

Along with some delicious food, guests were also treated to cocktails by The Loft pop-up bar and wines by Connect Vines

Organo Gold was also in attendance providing guests with coffee, mocha, latte, and organic green tea tasting

The evening went really well, with the help of these girls (as seen below). Each of these girls gave their own time to be there and support me in making this event a success....I can't thank them enough. It really shows you how when people really believe in you they will be there and want to be apart of what you are creating.

Styled with Success would not have been a success if it wasn't for those who attended...Thank you to everyone who was there on the evening, I really hope you were all inspired in some way and take this inspiration and turn it into achieving your goals in life.

A big part of this event was about raising money for Msqaured Charity, which I co-founded along with my friend Mary Liu. We started this charity to raise funds and provide educational supplies for underprivileged children in China and Sri Lanka. To raise money we held a charity raffle, with so many great prizes up for grabs, kindly donated by Muk haircare, Aj Skin Consultants in Hyde Park, Datiro Designs, casper + pearl, Liza Emanuele, and Naomi Murrell.

The evening ended with thankyou's to all the speakers for showing us that it is possible to be a fashion designer, or own your own boutique, or start your own fashion news website, or create a fashion agency, or even give people opportunities that they would not have otherwise had.

Thankyou once again to everyone who was involved in making Styled with Success a success....I hope there will be a Styled with Success 2014!

Adelaide Beauty Conference 2013

I recently attended the most anticipated day on the Adelaide beauty bloggers calender....
The Adelaide Beauty Conference. This was my first time attending the Adelaide Beauty Conference, so I wasn't quite sure what to expect! Upon arrival I found out that this years conference theme was Beauty with a Conscience, bringing the concept of nature and natural products into the topic of beauty....

We were all given cute little bow name tags....which allowed us to get to know each other by name in person and make connections with the face behind the blogs....
There were so many great brands involved in this years meet, including Guinot, Davroe, Natures Organics, People for plants and Couleur Caramel.
Not only were we introduced to these amazing brands and their products, but we were also given some insight into the legal side of blogging, and we were treated to a workshop about how to take a professional looking photo by Cristina from The Hungry Australian....it was such useful information.

Lunch was amazing!!!! Vegan burgers provided by Two-Bit Villains along with specially made sodas and sweets, We were also treated to delicious and pretty little cupcakes from The Cupcake Table

Guinot was the first of the brands to speak to us about their amazing products, they also demonstrated their Aromatic Facial, with a really cool full face peel off mask, which is lathered onto the whole face including over the eyes and mouth and then once dried it gets pulled off....

We then heard about Couleur Caramel and Love Organics...which led to a make up competition, where we had to go from station to station and do our own make-up in a certain amount of time....prizes were given based on most wearable, creative, best eyes and more....
Below you can see Susannah from Sparkle2day.com  and I showing off our more wearable looks after the competition

Next we heard from the owner of Davroe, it is so great and rare that this brand is South Australian owned and South Australian Made. They have products for any kind of hair, whether its curly, coloured, blonde, or dry. I'm really looking forward to trying out there products...

After a few more games and activities the day came to an end. We were spoiled with gift bags filled with amazing products to take home and try out. For my first time attending the Adelaide beauty conference, I was not dissapointed....and I can't wait till next years conference!
